Krug’s 2025 Culinary Program: Celebrating Carrots
The prestigious Champagne maison Krug, imported by MHD Moët Hennessy Diageo, announces an exciting theme for its culinary program in 2025: "KRUG×CARROT." Since its inception in 2015, Krug has collaborated with global ambassadors to propose perfect pairings between unique ingredients and their exquisite Champagnes. This year, the spotlight shines on the humble carrot, embracing its versatility to create a remarkable gastronomic experience.
Tribute to Ingredients and the "Krug in the Kitchen" Philosophy
The founder, Joseph Krug, had a dream since 1843: to produce the highest quality Champagne each year, unaffected by climate changes. This vision led the maison to treat each vineyard parcel as a unique ingredient, crafting blends that highlight their terroirs' individuality. "Krug in the Kitchen" reflects this philosophy, encouraging chefs worldwide to explore infinite possibilities from a single ingredient. Each year features a different modest yet promising ingredient, starting from potatoes in 2015.
Olivier Krug, the sixth-generation director of the Krug House, emphasizes the connection between Krug Champagne and culinary delights: "For my family, Krug has always been about gastronomic experiences. The Krug Grande Cuvée allows for a rich array of flavor pairings with food."
Carrots Take Center Stage in 2025
This year, Krug's ambassadors have chosen the carrot as the star ingredient. With its colorful varieties—from orange to purple, white, and yellow—and multiple cooking methods, carrots can bring forth sweetness, bitterness, sourness, and umami, making them a true culinary canvas. The chefs are rediscovering its allure, creating recipes that utilize carrot sweetness in sauces, roasting it over charcoal for added flavor in mains, and innovating with juices, purees, and desserts that celebrate the vegetable's unique characteristics.
Julie Cavil, the chef de caves of Krug, describes the blending of Champagne and recipe creation as an intersection of imagination and skill. “In the kitchen or tasting room, we create recipes meant to be experienced. Food and Champagne come together through the finest pairings,” she states.
Gastronomic Harmony with Krug Grande Cuvée and Krug Rosé
Every year unveils a new edition of the Grande Cuvée, with its edition number representing how many times Joseph Krug's dream has been realized. For 2025, the "Krug Grande Cuvée 173 Edition" blends 150 wines from different harvest years, aged for approximately seven years. The elegance of the white wine intertwines beautifully with the character of the "Krug Rosé 29 Edition," which comprises 29 wines spanning four years, also aged for about seven years. Delve into a delightful pairing experience featuring carrots.

About Krug
Founded in 1843 by Joseph Krug in Reims, Krug has become synonymous with exceptional quality and uncompromised philosophy. Joseph understood that joy is at the essence of Champagne, striving to transcend the mere concept of vintage to deliver continuously outstanding Champagne. By focusing on the individuality of each vineyard parcel and building an extensive library of reserve wines, Krug established itself as the first and only house dedicated exclusively to prestige Champagne. His vision and ingenuity have been inherited and elevated through six generations of the Krug family.
