On June 5, 2025, The World's 50 Best Restaurants, with sponsorship from S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, released the eagerly anticipated list of restaurants ranked from 51 to 100. This year’s ranking is a true celebration of global culinary talent, featuring establishments from six continents and highlighting the rich diversity of flavors and dining experiences available worldwide.
The list encompasses 37 different cities, showcasing the establishments that are making waves in the gastronomic scene. Notably, this year includes 12 new entrants from cities such as São Paulo, San Francisco, Macau, and Tulum, which signifies the continued evolution and expansion of the culinary landscape.
In detail, the new listings emphasize a balance across continents, with nine restaurants from Asia, 20 from Europe, eight in North America, eight in South America, three in Africa, and two in Oceania. Commanding attention is Arca, located in Tulum, Mexico, which secured the highest new entry at number 67. Moreover, Amisfield Restaurant in Queenstown, New Zealand, proudly represents its country by making its debut in the rankings at number 99.
Europe remains a commanding presence in this list with a standout count of 20 restaurants. Among these, newcomers like Koan in Copenhagen (ranked 91), Cocina Hermanos Torres in Barcelona (78), Txispa in Atxondo (85), and Al Gatto Verde in Modena (92) reflect the region’s culinary richness. Germany shines with significant entries like Restaurant Tim Raue (58), Nobelhart & Schmutzig (59), and Tantris (73), while Spanish establishments such as Quique Dacosta (65), Aponiente (84), and Mugaritz (87) continue to affirm Spain’s status as a culinary heavyweight.
Asia adds dynamism with fresh entrants from Macau and Shanghai, along with existing gastronomic stars from cities including Tokyo, Seoul, Mumbai, and Singapore. Notably, Cape Town, South Africa, showcases three unique establishments, with Salsify at the Roundhouse making its mark at number 88.
Across the Americas, three new restaurants have made their entrance: Arca in Tulum (67), Huniik in Mérida (89), and César in New York (98). Moreover, Atelier Crenn in San Francisco reclaims its spot at 96, while Le Bernardin in New York holds steady at number 90.
South America sees Tuju from São Paulo at 70, complemented by favored dining spots from Rio de Janeiro, Bogotá, Quito, and Cuzco. Saint Peter in Sydney takes the 66th spot, and marking a historic moment, New Zealand’s presence is acknowledged for the first time with Amisfield Restaurant appearing at 99.
