TSC Alliance's 24th Annual Comedy for a Cure
On April 6, 2025, the TSC Alliance will host its much-anticipated 24th Annual Comedy for a Cure at the historic Vibiana in Los Angeles. The event aims to raise funds and awareness for tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), a rare genetic condition that leads to tumor development in crucial organs. With the support of Headline Sponsor Jazz Pharmaceuticals, this annual gathering promises to be a memorable evening filled with laughter while contributing critical funding for those impacted by TSC.
Historically, this event has been vital for the TSC community, with more than $6 million raised since its inception in 2002. Kari Luther Rosbeck, President and CEO of TSC Alliance, expressed the necessity of this year’s event, especially following the recent wildfires in Southern California that have affected many, particularly individuals with TSC and developmental disabilities. “It was important to the TSC community to come together, to galvanize and to share an evening of laughter and hope,” stated Rosbeck.
The lineup features headliner Tom Papa, a prominent comedic talent making waves across film, television, radio, and podcasts. He will be joined by Ron Pearson, recognized not only as an accomplished comedian but also as a world-renowned juggler, known for his television appearance on Malcolm and Eddie. The emcee for the evening will be Gary Cannon, who brings over 25 years of experience to the stage, currently known for his work warming up audiences for the daytime Jennifer Hudson show as well as the popular competition show The Masked Singer.
The event is organized in collaboration with a dedicated Comedian Committee, comprised of celebrities committed to enhancing the show. Notable members of the committee include Jim O'Heir, Alonzo Bodden, Shane Brady, Mo Collins, Wendy Liebman, Melissa Peterman, and Craig Shoemaker, all of whom contribute their time and talent to make the evening a success.
Ryan Bovia of Jazz Pharmaceuticals expressed enthusiasm for their ongoing partnership with the TSC Alliance, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness and inspiring advocacy for those living with TSC. “Harnessing the connective power of laughter deepens our commitment to raising awareness,” he stated.
In addition to laughter and entertainment, the event will also honor influential figures in the TSC community. The Huddleston Family will receive the Courage in Leadership Award for their exemplary efforts in increasing awareness and fundraising to further TSC research through events at Irwindale Speedway. Their advocacy is driven by the challenges faced by their daughter, Hailey, who lives with TSC. Furthermore, Greg Grunberg and his organization 'Talk About It!' will be recognized with the TSC Champion Award for significant contributions to raising awareness about epilepsy, a condition often associated with TSC.

About Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC)
TSC is characterized by the growth of benign tumors in various organs, including the brain, heart, kidneys, and more. The disorder impedes organ function, particularly affecting the brain’s health, leading to seizures and developmental issues. It's important to note that TSC is the leading genetic cause of epilepsy, with many individuals also facing challenges such as autism spectrum disorder.
