DayOne Data Centers Expands Financing to US$7.2 Billion Amid Rapid Growth
DayOne Data Centers Grows Financially and Operationally
In a significant milestone, DayOne Data Centers Limited, based in Singapore, has successfully expanded its financing efforts in Malaysia to approximately US$7.2 billion, marking a substantial increase to further fortify its digital infrastructure platform. With this financial boost, DayOne has achieved over 1GW of billings, and its bookings have soared to around 2.3GW, showcasing the company's commitment and capability in delivering large-scale customer solutions.
Financing Overview
The recent upsizing in financing was arranged through a coalition of seven lenders, and it’s aimed at enhancing DayOne’s data center platform in Johor, Malaysia. This follows a previous financing round in May 2025, which raised around US$3.5 billion. The total funding raised by DayOne since 2024 is over US$6 billion, demonstrating robust investor confidence and a strong capital base that will sustain its future growth initiatives.
Jamie Khoo, the Chief Executive Officer of DayOne, commented that the faith shown by their banking partners and customers is crucial to the company's milestones. This financing will allow them to cater to the rising demand for AI and cloud infrastructure, which is rapidly developing in current markets. DayOne has established a strong foothold by securing powered land and customer commitments at early stages of their operations, allowing for effective and strategic growth as they expand their footprint across various regions.
Operational Achievements
DayOne's operational numbers depict impressive growth; the company’s billings have increased by more than eightfold in less than two years, growing from 121MW at the end of 2024 to the current mark of 1GW. DayOne’s bookings reveal that they are on a positive trajectory, moving up from 1.25GW to 2.3GW, with an additional 1.1GW of reservations in place. These achievements not only highlight the company's operational efficiencies but also reinforce DayOne's strategic plans for sustainable expansion.
Strategically, DayOne has diversified its customer base, now serving 15 clients, up from nine at the end of 2024. The diversity in their customer portfolio highlights DayOne's ability to adapt and cater to various markets effectively, with relationships cultivated with significant hyperscale clients each deploying over or around 200MW across multiple locations.
Future Directions
“DayOne's pioneering efforts in scaling new markets have been pivotal since our inception,” asserted Khoo. The company is dedicated to delivering high-specification data center facilities across Asia Pacific and Europe as they continue to evolve and fulfill customer needs in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
This focus not only emphasizes their commitment to responsible execution but also reflects their ambition to harness strategic capacity for the burgeoning demands of digital infrastructure essential for the future of technology.
To summarize, DayOne Data Centers is making significant strides in both financial and operational dimensions, poised to leverage its capabilities to meet the rising challenges and opportunities in the digital infrastructure domain. As the company continues its growth journey, it remains steadfast in its mission to provide cutting-edge solutions and reinforce its position as a leader within the competitive landscape of digital service providers.
