Exciting OceanBiz2026 to be Held in Iwakuni, Yamaguchi this August

OceanBiz2026 in Yamaguchi: A Unique Underwater Drone Event

The Japan Underwater Drone Association is thrilled to announce that OceanBiz2026 in Yamaguchi will take place on August 7-8, 2026, at the Iwakuni Marine Environment Testing Satellite (IMETS) in Yamaguchi Prefecture. This exciting event marks the first time OceanBiz will be hosted in Iwakuni, expanding the exhibition from its traditional venue in Shizuoka to two locations in Japan—Yamaguchi and Shizuoka.

OceanBiz is celebrated as Japan's first and only comprehensive underwater drone event, where enthusiasts and industry professionals can experience, compare, and interact with various underwater drones and related technologies. The Yamaguchi venue at IMETS will showcase a variety of underwater robotics, attracting businesses, local governments, research institutions, and educational organizations looking to introduce and utilize these technologies in the western part of Japan.

Venue Details

The IMETS, an esteemed location for marine environment testing, will serve as a vibrant hub for showcasing underwater drones. This venue is gaining significant attention as a premier spot for live demonstrations, allowing attendees to observe products in action. Companies interested in exhibiting can apply for free, making it an invaluable opportunity for those wishing to promote their underwater drone technologies directly to visitors.

Exhibition and Demonstration Opportunities

Currently, the Japan Underwater Drone Association is actively recruiting organizations and companies that specialize in underwater drones and related robotics for participation in the event. This is a fantastic platform for promoting products and technologies to the western Japan audience, particularly for those who aim to generate buzz and engage with potential clients through live demonstrations. The application deadline for exhibitors is April 30, 2026, and spaces are limited, so interested parties should reach out to the association’s office quickly.

In addition to the Yamaguchi event, the association will also continue its tradition in Shizuoka, with plans for OceanBiz2026 in Shizuoka, scheduled for October 2026. This aims to expand the reach of OceanBiz further, integrating experiences from both venues to foster a deeper understanding and implementation of underwater drone technology across Japan.
