The Exciting Arrival of the MoonSwatch Tour in Nara, Japan

MoonSwatch Tour Makes a Splash in Nara

The highly anticipated MoonSwatch Tour is making its first appearance in Nara Prefecture this November! From the 15th to the 16th, the Kintetsu Department Store in the heart of Nara City will host this exclusive two-day event, allowing fans to dive into the enchanting world of the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection.

Swatch is known for its innovative collaboration with OMEGA, giving birth to the captivating Bioceramic MoonSwatch series. This collection draws inspiration from the historic Apollo moon landing, merging the groundbreaking design of the OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch with Swatch's vibrant creativity. The MoonSwatch Tour is designed to introduce this unique collection to a broader audience through a special road trip event that has traveled across various locations.

Located just 100 meters from Yamato-Saidaiji Station, Kintetsu Department Store has long been cherished as a community-centric shopping destination. It not only offers a diverse shopping experience but also encapsulates the culture and lifestyle of Nara, a city rich in history and tradition. Attendees will have the chance to explore the MoonSwatch experience in a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the charm of Nara.

What's exciting about this tour is the potential inclusion of rare models such as the '1965', 'EARTHPHASE', and 'MOONPHASE', which haven't been available in previous events. The models from the collection, with names inspired by celestial bodies like the sun, moon, and planets, come with unique designs and stories that have captivated audiences since their release in 2022.

Additionally, the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection is sold exclusively in selected Swatch stores in Japan and is not available online. This provides a perfect opportunity for fans to experience these unique timepieces first-hand during the tour.

The MoonSwatch displays will feature a special exhibit with the iconic FIAT 500, a car that was birthed in the same year as the OMEGA Speedmaster in 1957. The tour, which kicked off in the summer of 2022 from Swatch's headquarters in Biel, Switzerland, has been traveling to unique locations across Japan, including areas without a dedicated store.

About MoonSwatch

The Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection emerged as a tribute to the legendary OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch, the first watch worn on the moon, incorporating Swatch's innovative perspective to create a collection of space-inspired chronographs. With an approach that continues to capture the public's fascination, the collection evolves beyond mere timekeeping to become a lifestyle icon.

The Bioceramic material used in this collection is a patented blend developed by Swatch, featuring a combination of ceramic commonly found in high-end watches and bio-sourced materials derived from castor oil. This unique composite provides not only a silky matte finish but also durability and comfort for daily wear.

Since its founding in 1983, Swatch has created a significant impact in the watch industry with its vibrant designs and innovative approach. The brand continues to deliver surprises, and its involvement in areas such as action sports, art, and music underlines its commitment to thinking and acting in groundbreaking ways.
