2. Cost-Effective Production of Monoterpenoids
Assistant Professor Liao Pan introduced a novel method for manufacturing a specific monoterpene commonly used in perfumes. This approach is both economical and environmentally friendly, which addresses a pressing need for sustainable practices in the fragrance industry.

3. Advanced Catalysts for Green Hydrogen Production

  • - Botanical Remedy for Rare Diseases
The novel botanical remedy CDD-2107, aimed at treating myofibrillar myopathy caused by BAG3 gene mutations, received accolades for its multi-omics analysis approach to therapy. This project marks a significant milestone as HKBU’s first botanical drug to attain orphan drug designation from the FDA.
