International Congress of Basic Science 2026 Launches in Beijing

The International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS) for 2026 officially started in Beijing on Sunday, with a gathering of over 1,000 participants, including esteemed scientists, researchers, and emerging scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds.

This year’s congress, themed “Advancing Fundamental Science for Humanity,” promises a rich agenda over its two-week duration, offering more than 500 academic sessions that span various branches and interdisciplinary focuses within the realm of fundamental science. State-of-the-art topics such as generative reasoning powered by large models, computer vision, human-machine interaction, and quantum information will also feature prominently during the event.

Renowned international scientists are set to deliver lectures that delve into fundamental science, while also showcasing reports related to awards in pioneering sciences. This approach aims to disseminate knowledge of the latest global advancements, nurturing collaborative innovation across multiple disciplines.

This year marks the fourth edition of the ICBS held in Beijing, organized in collaboration with the Beijing Municipal Government, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, and the International Consortium of Chinese Mathematicians.
