Globeducate Partners with WFUNA to Promote Global Citizenship Education

Globeducate Champions Global Citizenship Through Strategic Partnership with WFUNA

Madrid, June 29, 2026 — Globeducate is excited to announce its latest strategic alliance with the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), aimed at advancing global citizenship education among students and teachers within its network. Effective September 2026, this partnership is set to introduce numerous unique opportunities that will enrich the educational experiences provided to young learners in over 65 bilingual and international schools across 11 countries.

Since launching its global education program in January 2020, Globeducate has incorporated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the everyday learning of its students. The program encourages participants to cultivate autonomy, enhance their ability to express their thoughts, engage with global issues, and take concrete actions within their communities. Through this initiative, students gain firsthand experiences of global citizenship as they actively participate in various global challenges.

In addition to the ongoing opportunities, students at Globeducate have been actively involved in Model United Nations (MUN) competitions worldwide, including the annual Globeducate MUN event. In 2027, this event will take place in Geneva, marking the seventh consecutive year that students will experience the UN's headquarters up close. This year's participants will have the unique opportunity to visit the Institute of International Education in Geneva and the Geneva Business School, both esteemed partners of WFUNA, as part of this enriching program.

Daniel Jones, Globeducate's director of education, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "This collaboration opens the door for our students and teachers to engage directly with the heart of the United Nations and its various agencies. Our training programs will focus on global citizenship themes, including the SDGs, enabling us to create sustainable opportunities not just for the students but for all Globeducate institutions."

The WFUNA's Act4Impact program will guide students through the intricacies of the SDGs, project management, and global citizenship. Under this program, students will develop and implement their community projects, thereby fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership.

WFUNA Secretary-General Aziel-Philippos Goulandris expressed his excitement, saying, "We are thrilled to partner with Globeducate to extend WFUNA programs to its international network of schools, enabling us to reach even more students and educators across the globe. This partnership presents an incredible opportunity to cultivate the next generation of leaders, deepen their understanding of the United Nations and the SDGs, and motivate them to act within their own communities."

Through initiatives like this, the hope is to empower young people to view themselves as engaged global citizens tasked with contributing to a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world. As students embark on these educational journeys, they will be equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate complex global challenges and make impactful changes in their surroundings.

The alliance between Globeducate and WFUNA is not just limited to educational enhancement; it represents a commitment to nurturing informed future leaders who will play significant roles in fostering international cooperation and understanding. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, partnerships like this highlight the importance of equipping future generations with the tools they need to advocate for global peace and sustainability.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Globeducate and WFUNA promises to enrich the educational landscape profoundly, offering students unparalleled access to global citizenship education while fostering the skills necessary to engage with pressing global issues. By engaging with students in practical, hands-on ways, this partnership stands to make a lasting impact on educators and learners alike.
