JENNIE-O® Turkey Brand Partners with 'The Tonight Show' for Thanksgiving Donations

JENNIE-O® Turkey Brand Partners with 'The Tonight Show'

As the holiday season approaches, the JENNIE-O® turkey brand is taking significant steps to give back to the community. In a heartwarming collaboration with NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," the brand is donating an impressive 15,000 whole frozen turkeys to the Food Bank For New York City. This initiative is part of a larger effort, as the total turkey donations by JENNIE-O® will exceed 30,000 this holiday season.

The event unfolded during a memorable segment on the popular late-night talk show, where the JENNIE-O® brand aimed to highlight the importance of giving and gratitude. Nine semi-trucks, loaded with the turkeys, made a journey from Minnesota to New York, culminating in a hand-delivery to the Food Bank For New York City. This partnership not only brings hope to thousands of families but also illustrates the JENNIE-O® brand's commitment to supporting those in need.

Jeff Baker, Group Vice President of Retail Marketing at Hormel Foods, expressed excitement over this collaboration, emphasizing the brand's long-standing tradition of providing turkeys to organizations across the country during the holiday season. He said, "This special time of year is about giving to others and showing gratitude, and we hope to make this Thanksgiving a momentous holiday for tens of thousands of families."

Leslie Gordon, President and CEO of the Food Bank For New York City, also expressed her gratitude for the donation. She remarked, "This tremendous donation of 15,000 turkeys will help thousands of our neighbors celebrate the holidays with the dignity they deserve." Currently, around 1.3 million New Yorkers face food insecurity, including a staggering 1 in 4 children.

In addition to the generous donation to New York City, the JENNIE-O® brand plans to donate another 15,000 turkeys throughout the remainder of the holiday season, with many designated for families in its home state of Minnesota. Recent donations included 2,000 turkeys given in partnership with the Minnesota Wild, followed by another 3,500 turkeys distributed during the Hometown Turkey Takeover event in Austin, Minnesota, the hometown of Hormel Foods.

Kim Anderson, Senior Manager of the JENNIE-O® brand, reiterated the company's long history of giving back, stating, "We are always striving to do our part to make sure we provide plenty of nutritious JENNIE-O® turkey products for people in need and help them enjoy the holiday season to the fullest."

Adding to the festivities, the JENNIE-O® brand will once again be part of the iconic Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®, marking its fifth year. This year's parade will feature a beloved turkey float, complemented by a performance from T-Pain, the Grammy-winning artist and cultural icon, who will delight the audience with a mashup of his hits.

This collaboration showcasing generosity and community support not only brings joy to families during the festive season but also inspires others to engage in giving back to their communities.
