On October 14, 2025, a captivating event is set to unfold at Kyoto Station with the inaugural Kyoto Station Building Art Festival (GNE). Organized by Kyoto Station Building Corporation and featuring the uniquely energetic CGO.com gals, this festival promises an invigorating combination of contemporary art and traditional elements.
Over the course of the festival, running from October 14 to November 3, attendees can explore a variety of new ‘mash-up’ artworks created by 22 talented artists, all showcased throughout Kyoto Station and its partnered satellite locations. This interdisciplinary celebration features live performances, unique food experiences exclusive to the festival, and educational tours of local temples.
The highlight of the opening day, October 14, is the performance aptly titled ‘Gals and GNE Mash-Up!!’ scheduled from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Here, the CGO.com gals will don vibrant, upcycled kimonos, bringing a contemporary twist to the traditional garment. Together with Kyoto university students, they will parade through key locations within the station—including the station square, Muromachi Alley, South Plaza, and Torimaru Alley—creating an electrifying atmosphere and engaging with festival visitors.
The role of the CGO.com gals is not just to entertain; they will share their favorite festival spots and invite attendees to take photos, ensuring everyone feels the vibrant vibes. This dynamic juxtaposition of Shibuya’s energetic culture and Kyoto’s rich heritage aims to transform Kyoto Station from merely a travel hub into a place that uplifts the spirit, offering joy and inspiration to all who visit.
