Fostering Teamwork and Improvement Skills through Drone Competitions
In this rapidly evolving age of AI, it is essential for today's youth to develop core abilities such as teamwork, critical thinking, experimentation, and improvement. To address this need, the Drokatsu Executive Committee is hosting the "Drokatsu Competition Experience and Explanation Session". This event is tailored for educational institutions and educators to familiarize themselves with a unique competition focused on drone operation and programming.
What is the Drokatsu Competition?
The Drokatsu Competition empowers children by encouraging them to tackle challenges in teams through engaging and educational drone activities. Unlike ordinary drone flying, participants are required to strategize as a group and divide roles, discussing potential pitfalls and iterating solutions until success is achieved. This process naturally cultivates skills that will be invaluable in the future, including programming, logical reasoning, collaboration, communication, and leadership.
In 2025, the third national Drokatsu competition will take place, bringing together 32 teams from across the country who have qualified through preliminary rounds. In preparation for this exciting event, the Drokatsu Executive Committee has organized a series of sessions in both Kanto and Western Japan to deepen understanding of the competition's educational significance and methodology.
Experience and Explanation Sessions
During the experience and explanation sessions, attendees will not only learn about the Drokatsu Competition but also actively participate in programming and drone operation using the educational drone, CoDrone EDU. This hands-on approach is designed not just to demonstrate the competition but to provide insight into team-based learning possibilities with drones.
The sessions are open to a variety of participants, including teachers from elementary, middle, and high schools, faculty from vocational schools and universities, education committee members, and operators of programming and STEAM schools, ensuring a broad reach.
