Promoting Women's Health in Yokohama
Coretrim Station, a company under Japan Sigmax, is set to launch a new initiative in partnership with the Yokohama government's women's health program, "Hama El," starting in April 2024. This collaboration aims to empower women, especially those in parenting roles, with critical education and exercises focused on preventing back pain, a common yet often overlooked health issue.
Addressing Underrated Health Issues
Busy women, particularly those in child-rearing years, often face overwhelming responsibilities that leave little time for self-care and health education. Many experience chronic back pain triggered by pregnancy and childbirth, yet neglect to address their health needs amid their busy schedules. The risk of sudden, severe back pain can disrupt their ability to manage daily tasks related to childcare, work, and home responsibilities.
Recognizing this challenge, Coretrim Station has developed a program based on medical evidence to teach women how to use their bodies in ways that minimize back strain. Through the "Hama El" initiative, this program aims to significantly contribute to the health and well-being of busy women by providing easily accessible resources and exercises.
The Back Pain Prevention Exercises
The "Back Pain Prevention Exercises" offered by Coretrim Station include:
- - Clear explanations of the various types of back pain and their causes.
- - Identification of postures and movements that put significant stress on the back.
- - Guidance on simple exercises to do at home to prevent back pain.
- - Tips on adjusting daily routines to lessen strain on the back.
This program targets parents of students attending about 500 elementary and junior high schools in Yokohama, with each session accommodating up to 50 participants. Each session will last for 45 minutes and requires a venue equipped with individual chairs and yoga mats.
Free Support for Participants
The program is entirely free of charge, and interested schools must register at least one month in advance of their desired session date. This initiative highlights Yokohama's commitment to supporting the health of women, particularly those who are balancing their personal health with the demands of raising children.
Participants can look forward to an informative and supportive environment where they can learn how to manage and prevent back pain, ensuring they maintain their health and well-being amidst their busy lives.
Expert Insight
Coretrim Station provides insights into how even long-standing back pain can be significantly improved through simple adjustments in body mechanics. For those juggling work and family, the program aims to equip them with easy and safe exercises they can incorporate into their home routines to prevent recurrence of back issues.
