Exciting Achievement for South University School of Pharmacy
South University is celebrating a notable achievement within its School of Pharmacy, as it announced an impressive
81% first-time pass rate on the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination® (NAPLEX) for its 2025 graduates. This outstanding result has positioned the program as the leading three-year PharmD program in the
South Atlantic Region and the second-best PharmD program overall in
Georgia.
The
81% pass rate marks an incredible
21.7 percentage point increase compared to the previous year, reflecting the university's dedication to student success through a combination of enhanced curricula and robust support systems. Among the
58 students from South University who attempted the NAPLEX for the first time in 2025,
47 successfully passed the exam.
Dean
Adegoke Adeniji expressed satisfaction with the results, emphasizing the hard work of students and faculty, along with a solid commitment to providing students with the necessary tools for excellence in the pharmacy profession. "This achievement is a testament to our faculty's dedication, our students' hard work, and our commitment to preparing future pharmacy professionals for successful careers in practice," he remarked.
Key Strategic Enhancements
The School of Pharmacy attributes its recent success to several vital strategic improvements aimed at refining the educational experience:
- - Nurturing Environment: The institution fosters a results-driven learning environment from students' first day.
- - Curriculum Improvements: Adjustments have been made to align coursework closely with the competencies required for the NAPLEX and actual pharmacy practice in the field.
- - Post-Graduation Support: Initiatives have been introduced to assist graduates in readying themselves for the NAPLEX, enhancing their chances of passing on the first try.
Data from the
National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) revealed that South University's first-time pass rate of 81% stands out nationally, where the average for all accredited programs was
86.8% for the 2025 graduates. This current trajectory showcases how effective targeted interventions and comprehensive support can be.
