Oisix's Commitment to Noto's Recovery with Traditional Seasonings
As the two-year anniversary of the Noto Peninsula earthquake approaches, Oisix, a subscription food service provider based in Tokyo, Japan, is launching new products featuring traditional Noto seasonings. Scheduled for release on December 18, 2025, the "Delicious Foods from Noto and Kanazawa" campaign aims to highlight the recovery efforts of local producers and encourage consumers to continue their support through shopping.
The earthquake, which struck in 2024, has left a lasting impact on the local economy, with ongoing challenges such as population decline, infrastructure rebuilding, and mental health care. While some progress has been made in reopening businesses and restoring infrastructure, the region still faces significant hurdles. Numerous organizations and companies have stepped in to provide financial support, resources, and emotional assistance, emphasizing the need for tailored approaches to reach those most in need.
Oisix has been at the forefront of sustainable support for the Noto region, developing special products that include a donation to help with local recovery efforts. Their “Eat and Support” initiative has proven successful; during the previous campaign in July, the sales page for these products saw a visitor rate and sales performance exceeding expectations by 120%. Popular meal kits from Michelin-rated restaurants and locally cherished processed foods were offered with donation components, allowing customers to enjoy Noto's unique flavors while contributing to disaster relief.
