One of the standout attributes of this battery is its integrated Battery Management System (BMS). The BMS provides protections against short circuits, overvoltage, undervoltage, current, and temperature variations. Additionally, it monitors cell balancing and logs faults and errors, ensuring optimal performance. It maintains a constant 12V power supply for critical systems, complying with FIA regulations. The battery's operational temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C demonstrates Clarios' focus on performance across a vast range of conditions—an essential aspect for batteries tailored for racing.

Moreover, the OPTIMA Race Battery includes an advanced CAN communication capability, allowing real-time monitoring of all battery parameters and seamless integration with racing vehicle systems. This feature enables the vehicle to automatically or manually switch to a secondary battery if the primary one fails, ensuring uninterrupted performance during endurance races.
