As a celebration of its 40 years of service, the Hotel Metropolitan, located at 1-6-1 Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima Ward, announces the launch of its commemorative wine bottles: Nagano Rouge and Nagano Blanc. The hotel, led by General Manager Shigeo Ito, will officially mark this milestone on June 2, 2025, and to commemorate this landmark, it will introduce these uniquely designed wine bottles for guests and wine enthusiasts alike.

Wine Details


Nagano Rouge


This red wine, crafted primarily from Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes sourced from Nagano Prefecture, offers a delightful medium body. Cabernet Franc, with its over 30 years of cultivation, lends a refined acidity and appropriate tannins, while Merlot adds a smooth fruitiness. Additionally, a hint of wild grape varieties enhances the wine's depth with its unique acidity and spicy notes. The wine appears in a rich ruby hue, exuding aromas of blackberry, dark cherry, and enough oak essence to compliment its spice notes. On the palate, it is smooth with ripe fruit flavors that lead to a pleasant, lingering finish.

Nagano Blanc


Exclusively made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from Nagano, this white wine undergoes approximately ten months of aging in French oak barrels, which imparts a robust oak aroma. The result is a mellow mouthfeel with a delightful finish. The wine shines in a bright lemon yellow, releasing sweet aromas of ripe pear and white flowers, combined with soft oak fragrances. The palate opens up to a refreshing acidity and concentrated fruit flavors, culminating in an elegant and prolonged finish, making it an excellent match for various cuisines including traditional Japanese dishes that incorporate soy sauce and white miso.

These original wine bottles will be available for purchase from August 1, 2025, until stocks last. Guests can enjoy them at various hotel dining locations, including:
