What to Expect in the New Museum

The museum offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to interact with 3D models of measuring instruments on its website and explore a reconstructed Edo-period merchant house within the metaverse. Metaverse Experience

One of the standout features of the Tokyo Measurement Museum is its metaverse environment, which recreates an Edo-period setting where visitors can operate measuring instruments as a coin exchange merchant. This hands-on experience offers an opportunity to learn about traditional measuring techniques and instruments used during that era, enriching user engagement through dynamic interaction.

Developed in collaboration with Professor Sugane Nakagawa from Aichi Gakuin University, an expert in Edo-period finance, the recreated merchant house is based on historical references and actual documents, ensuring an authentic representation. The metaverse is divided into three different worlds, each highlighting various aspects of measurement from the Edo period.
