This initiative comes in light of rising ingredient costs, which have led to increased prices for many goods and services in the market. FamilyMart aims to alleviate some of the financial burden for its customers.

The focus of the third phase of the "Savings Relay" is to offer refreshing options during the hot summer days. Customers buying one of the eligible 'Oi Ocha' drinks will receive a free voucher for a complimentary 'Oi Ocha Koikou Hojicha' drink. Since 2022, selected national brand products, such as toilet paper and other necessities, have been priced strategically to compete with mass retailers. The response from customers has been overwhelmingly positive, with a remarkable 109% increase in sales for qualifying products in early 2025 compared to the same period the year prior.
Currently, there are 60 items available under this program, which has expanded from 54 items in 2024. Customers can catch promotional videos on the digital signage, "FamilyMart Vision," displayed within the stores.
Furthermore, starting August 5, 2025, FamilyMart will issue exclusive coupons through its app, "Famipay," offering discounts of 100 to 200 yen on select items from the "Challenge Price for Affordability" list, running until August 18, 2025.
