Gakken High School Expansion
In April 2026, Gakken Educational Holdings Co., Ltd., a group company under Gakken Holdings Co., Ltd., will launch
four new campuses for the Gakken high school support system across Japan. This initiative exemplifies Gakken's commitment to addressing the educational needs of students through a flexible learning environment.
With over
75 years in the education sector, Gakken Group has been a driving force in Japan's educational and publishing industries. Together with
Clark Memorial International High School, a pioneering establishment in distance learning for over 30 years, they have formed a robust partnership aimed at enhancing the educational experience for students with diverse needs, particularly those attending correspondence high schools.
Currently, Gakken High School operates
eight campuses primarily in the Kanto, Chubu, and Kinki regions, providing academic support to a multitude of students who are eager to pursue their studies. The upcoming four campuses are:
- - Shimizu Campus in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture
- - Ono Campus in Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture
- - Kashii Campus in Fukuoka City, Higashi Ward, Fukuoka Prefecture
- - Nishijin Campus in Fukuoka City, Sawara Ward, Fukuoka Prefecture (marking the first campus in the Kyushu region)
With these new additions, Gakken High School will increase its total campus count to

Collaboration with Clark Memorial International High School
Gakken High School works closely with Clark Memorial International High School, which offers extensive distance learning and unit-based programs. This collaboration provides comprehensive support in academics, personal life, and career planning for students. With approximately
70 learning centers and partner schools across Japan, this alliance ensures a flexible and reliable learning atmosphere.
Moreover, students will gain access to about
320 universities and over 1,400 designated school recommendation slots through Clark Memorial International High School, expanding their opportunities for entrance exams and further studies. This system caters to students' diverse aspirations, going beyond traditional entrance exams.
