Experience the Joy of Play at the Tokyo Toy Festival 2025 In Shinjuku

Welcome to the Tokyo Toy Festival 2025

The Tokyo Toy Festival is set for a vibrant weekend on November 15th and 16th, 2025, at the Tokyo Toy Museum and the surrounding Yotsuya Hiroba in Shinjuku. This annual celebration of play is organized by the Certified NPO Arts and Play Creation Association, and it promises to be the largest yet, featuring more than 100 booths and engaging activities for children and families.

A Focus on Fun with Over 100 Booths

One of the festival's main attractions is the "Toy Fair," which showcases a variety of fun and interactive booths run by toy consultants from across Japan. Activities range from hands-on workshops using natural materials and felt to traditional street performances set to amaze attendees. The booth offerings change daily, ensuring that each day brings fresh experiences. Make sure to check the official website for the updated booth schedule, as some may be more popular than others!

Spectacular Street Performances Await

Parents and children can delight in the myriad of performances happening throughout the festival. The "Performance Stage" will feature professional street performers presenting thrilling acts, including juggling, balloon art, and lion dance performances. These interactive shows invite audience participation, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

New Addition: The Wood and Cloth Toy Expo

This year, the festival introduces the "Wood and Cloth Toy Expo" as part of the World Wood Day 2025 celebrations. This event focuses on the historical and cultural ties between humanity and wood, and sustainability initiatives. Visitors can marvel at intricately crafted puppets by talented artists and enjoy traditional foot-turned pottery demonstrations from Morocco. Moreover, a puppet master known as a national treasure in Taiwan will showcase intricate performances.

Local artisans will also be on hand, and children can partake in activities like making hand-stitched cloth toys using fabric dyed by local school students.

Game Festival at Tokyo Toy Museum

In addition to the usual attractions at the Tokyo Toy Museum, this two-day festival will host game enthusiasts and champions, including representatives of Japan in foosball and former national champions in Othello. Participants can learn techniques from the best while enjoying classic toys and playing interactive games.
