Asian Hall of Fame Launches Destination Hawai'i Event to Combat Human Trafficking

Destination Hawai'i: A Celebration with Purpose

The Asian Hall of Fame (AHOF) is set to host an inspiring media launch event named Destination Hawai'i in commemoration of America's 250th anniversary. Scheduled for February 12, 2026, at Ben Bridge Timeworks in Honolulu, this event aims to gather community support and raise funds for the Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the AHOF Sex Trafficking Rescue Program.

The event will kick off with a private shopping experience at 6:00 PM, followed by a cocktail program from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to don Aloha Business attire and must present identification during registration as the evening promises a lively and engaging atmosphere. Catering will be provided by Panya Bistro & Bakery, ensuring a delightful selection of food and beverage.

Esteemed news anchor Annalisa Burgos from Hawai'i News Now will MC the event, setting the tone for a night dedicated to honoring both heritage and community service. In a significant acknowledgment, U.S. Representative Jeanné Kapela will receive the America 250 Award for her outstanding service, reflecting civic responsibility and innovative leadership that embodies the spirit of the nation.

The AHOF Board Chair, Melinda Rogers, is expected to deliver an inspirational keynote address, while other distinguished board members including Keith Hamasaki, John Nicholas, and Kimberly Vodang will also be present to lend their support. Notably, Grammy Voting Member Maki Mae and Camilla Shae will perform their new album release, contributing to a culturally rich evening.

Recognizing commitment to philanthropy, supporters who have contributed annually for five consecutive years will be honored with the Sapphire Anniversary Award throughout the event season. Notable guests to be celebrated include Ada Chan Wong, Noble Mario Taylor, and Patty Soldo, among others, representing a diverse network of longstanding supporters.

President and CEO Maki Hsieh of Asian Hall of Fame expressed, "We envision Honolulu as a pivotal destination for AHOF, especially considering Hawaii’s significance as a major point in Pacific sex trafficking. We are confident that our Sex Trafficking Rescue Program will bring substantial change to Hawaii."

The Asian Hall of Fame stands as a beacon for the American Dream, boasting an impressive roster of inductees including Connie Chung, Kristi Yamaguchi, Margaret Cho, Yao Ming, and Bruce Lee. In the past year alone, AHOF has invested $1.2 million in elevating community impact and talent development through collaborations with 177 scholars, benefactors, and grant partners.

To secure media credentialing for this important event, applications are open until February 6. Interested parties can apply through the AHOF website (Asian Hall of Fame Credentials).
