Greenspoon Marder Bolsters New York Real Estate Team with Key Additions

Greenspoon Marder Strengthens Real Estate Practice in New York

In a strategic move to enhance its real estate services in New York, Greenspoon Marder has expanded its team by appointing two new partners, Jay H. Kim and Lisa R. Radetsky, as well as senior counsel, Jillian K. Markowitz. This development underscores the firm’s dedication to growth within the region, as it welcomes six lateral partners in New York over the past six months.

Expertise of New Team Members

Lisa R. Radetsky brings her extensive knowledge in transactional matters, focusing on condominium and cooperative ownership. Her specialties include the acquisition, financing, construction, and conversion of properties. Moreover, she advises landlords and non-profits on leasehold condominium structures aimed at securing tax exemptions and offers due diligence services to lenders on condominium issues, alongside creating effective organizational frameworks for her clients. Radetsky expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "I am honored to join Greenspoon Marder and contribute to its renowned real estate practice. I look forward to collaborating with a talented team that shares my commitment to contributing to our clients’ success."

On the other hand, Jay H. Kim is specialized in representing commercial lenders and advising clients on both commercial and residential real estate transactions. His focus areas include commercial real estate loans, construction financing, mezzanine financing, and commercial leasing. Expressing his excitement at joining the firm, Kim remarked, "Starting the new year with Greenspoon Marder is an exciting milestone. The firm's impressive track record in real estate law, combined with its diverse practice areas, presents a unique opportunity to leverage my expertise and continue delivering outstanding results for my clients."

A Vision for Growth

Gerald Greenspoon, co-managing director of the firm, commented on the addition of Kim and Radetsky: "We are excited to have Jay and Lisa join our firm. Their vast experience in real estate transactions will be an invaluable asset to our New York offices' growing team." Michael Marder, co-managing director, adds, "Lisa’s experience with converting properties to condominiums and cooperatives, coupled with Jay’s skill in joint ventures and preferred equity, will enhance our capabilities."

Their individual contributions will significantly bolster Greenspoon Marder's position in the New York real estate market. Kim’s comprehensive knowledge makes him a trusted advisor for commercial lenders, along with investors and developers. Radetsky’s prior role as co-chair of the real estate practice at another New York law firm underscores her prowess in handling acquisitions, sales, lending transactions, and leasing matters.

Multifaceted Support from Jillian Markowitz

Jillian K. Markowitz, newly appointed senior counsel, brings additional expertise to the team. She represents lenders and borrowers involved in commercial real estate and SBA 7(a) lending. Additionally, she assists with the buying and selling of cooperative and condominium apartments and multi-family properties in New York.
