On April 14, 2025, the Hainan Free Trade Port Global Investment Promotion Conference took place in Haikou. Wang Qunbin, Co-Chairman of Fosun International, delivered a compelling speech representing major enterprises and outlined Fosun's ongoing commitment to enhancing its operations in Hainan. He stated, "This year signifies a transformative phase for the Hainan Free Trade Port, with independent customs operations emerging, thereby offering an expanded playground for private enterprises."

Fosun, recognized for its innovative capabilities, is deeply rooting itself in the biopharmaceutical and tourism sectors in Hainan. Over its 33-year history, Fosun has successfully developed into a global consumer group that prides itself on innovation. Wang highlighted that Hainan serves as a nurturing environment for growth, citing Fosun's two-decade engagement in the region, which has led to the creation of over 6,000 jobs and more than RMB10 billion in tax contributions.

Advancing in Biopharmaceuticals and Tourism

Fosun has made strides in the biopharmaceutical sector within Hainan, capitalizing on the unique regulatory advantages of the Bo'ao Lecheng Pilot Zone. As the third Atlantis resort globally, it has set new benchmarks for cultural tourism projects, attracting over 27 million visitors since opening. At the venue of the investment promotion conference, ongoing showcases were held for various brands including Club Med and ULTRAMED, reflecting Fosun's active participation in raising Hainan's profile as a premier destination for international tourists.

Wang stated, "As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we focus on high-quality products and our responsibilities in supporting Hainan's advancement towards becoming an international tourism and consumption hub."

Continuously driving the green technology transformation, Fosun's subsidiary, Hainan Mining, has expanded globally and secured lithium mines in Mali, as well as oil fields in Oman. Additionally, they are on the brink of launching a lithium hydroxide production line in Hainan, reinforcing their position in the new energy industry chain. This integration has not only led to increased productivity but also an impressive net profit growth of 12.97% year-on-year.

Responding to Global Demand

The Global Investment Promotion Conference drew significant attention, attracting global giants from the Fortune 500 list and numerous domestic enterprises amid a deluge of interested attendees, totaling approximately 3,000 participants. Wang underscored that the Hainan FTP's development is a testament to China’s unwavering commitment to opening its economy further to the global market.

Fosun aims to continue capitalizing on these opportunities. With a particular emphasis on biopharmaceuticals, the company is committed to the notion of 'Continuous Innovation, Healthy Living.' Centered around the Bo'ao Lecheng Pilot Zone, Fosun's strategy integrates cutting-edge innovations with pragmatic applications, ensuring Chinese patients enjoy immediate access to global medical advancements.
