The First Ever Nurse Manga Awards 2026 Kicks Off with Public Voting and Story Submissions

Nurse Manga Awards 2026 Launches Voting and Story Submissions

In celebration of National Nurses Day, the popular nursing community, Nurse Senka, which boasts around 1.5 million members, is kicking off the Nurse Manga Awards 2026. This exciting event will invite members to vote for their favorite comics published over the past year and share their unforgettable nursing experiences.

About Nurse Senka's Nurse Manga

Founded by SMS Co., Ltd., Nurse Senka (https://media.nurse-senka.jp/) is a platform dedicated to supporting nurses and nursing students. It provides a space for discussions, the latest healthcare news, and essential information for skill enhancement and career development. Over the years, it has accumulated about 1.5 million members as of March 2026.

To foster sharing and discussions, Nurse Senka has been collecting and showcasing real-life nursing stories since 2014. Starting in 2018, these stories began to be presented in comic format, making them more accessible and engaging for audiences. So far, over 1,900 comics have been shared on Instagram, resonating powerfully with followers.

The comics featured in Nurse Manga are drawn from authentic experiences of nurses and are chosen based on their ability to resonate, inspire reflection, and provide insights. Many stories encapsulate unforgettable moments or humorous encounters with patients, prompting comments from readers who appreciate their relatability—some have expressed how the comics have helped them rethink their approach to daily nursing duties.

What to Expect at Nurse Manga Awards 2026

The Nurse Manga Awards 2026 will feature ten selected comics that received significant feedback from the community over the past year. Voting will be open not just to Nurse Senka members but to all nurses, nursing students, and even general public participants.

To encourage participation, a special badge will be awarded to those who cast their votes, with a chance to win an Amazon gift card worth 5,000 yen. The voting process runs from May 12 to June 22, 2026, and will take place both online and during the Nurse Festival on June 13-14, 2026, at the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building Triangle Plaza.

In addition to comic nominations, contributions of unforgettable stories concerning nursing will also be accepted. Entries will be categorized based on different perspectives: "Unforgettable Patients" from the nurse's viewpoint, "Unforgettable Nurses" reflecting patient experiences, and "Unforgettable Nursing Practices" from nursing students. Winning stories will be adapted into comics later in the year.
