A Momentous Graduation at GLOBIS
On November 23, GLOBIS Graduate School of Management, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, held its graduation ceremony in a hybrid format combining both in-person and online participation. This year, 66 graduates achieved success in the part-time and online English MBA program, representing 21 different countries and regions, which is a testament to the program's global reach. The ceremony also marked a historic milestone, as the total number of alumni from the English MBA program surpassed 1,000.
During the ceremony, GLOBIS President Yoshito Hori delivered an inspiring address to the graduates. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations, stating, "I am truly delighted to witness 66 visionary leaders embark on a new chapter in their lives after their journey at GLOBIS. This graduation is not just a ceremony; it marks a significant milestone of surpassing 1,000 graduates from our English MBA program. Your unity and persistence in overcoming challenges have led you to this moment, and I am proud of how you have all developed as leaders."
Two student representatives also shared their experiences during the ceremony, reflecting on their two years at GLOBIS and their aspirations for the future. Federico Martin Taicher, who was honored for his outstanding academic performance and hails from Israel, expressed gratitude for the support he received throughout his MBA journey. He emphasized the importance of the shared experiences with his peers, stating, "The true essence of the MBA journey lies in the discussions we've had, the debates where we uplifted each other, the late-night group chats, and the various community events that brought us closer together. It is vital to recognize that we cannot grow alone but rather through the collective journey we embark upon with one another. Therefore, as you move to the next chapter, I encourage you to look around and acknowledge the faces in this room. They have guided us to this point."
Fellow student representative Ma. Krystle Marianne Yap from the Philippines shared her unique journey of participating online from her home country, discovering her personal mission along the way. She articulated, "A mission is paradoxical. It is deeply personal yet leads to something greater that transcends the individual. It is shaped by our experiences, introspections, and connections with others, influencing our growth as well. More importantly, it is essential to act upon our defined mission, not just articulate it. At GLOBIS, I have gained tools and inspiration, not only knowledge for my MBA but also to clarify and courageously pursue my personal mission. This, to me, is the true gift of my learning journey."
GLOBIS's English MBA program, established in 2009, started offering online courses in 2017 and has successfully produced 1,050 graduates to date. Approximately half of the students enrolled in the part-time and online English MBA program come from overseas, creating a rich, multicultural educational environment, both on campus and virtually.
This year's graduates hail from numerous countries, including Canada, China, France, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Liberia, the Netherlands, Nigeria, the Philippines, Poland, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Ukraine, the United States, and Vietnam.
