The atmosphere at Cal Expo was electric as Monster Energy's athletes hit the ground running on the opening day of the Summer X Games 2026 in Sacramento. The event not only drew an enthusiastic crowd but also showcased the incredible skills of the Monster Energy team, who managed to secure several podium spots, including two gold medals and two bronze across various competition categories.

Notable Performances

Arisa Trew Wins Gold in Women's Skateboard Park

One of the standout moments came from 16-year-old Arisa Trew, who earned gold in the Women's Skateboard Park competition. The talented athlete from Palm Beach, Australia, delivered a breathtaking performance that stunned both the audience and judges alike. After previously missing the podium in Salt Lake City, Trew came to Sacramento with determination.

On her first run, Trew accumulated an impressive score of 86.66 points, but she didn't stop there—her second run included a flawless series of tricks, including a McTwist on the vert wall and a backside 540 melon gap that pushed her score to an astounding 92.66 points, sealing her victory. After her win, Trew expressed her joy and motivation, saying, "This is the highest level of girl skateboarding... it's super cool because it makes me go harder!" With this latest achievement, Trew now boasts ten X Games medals.

Raicca Ventura Grabs Bronze

Joining Trew on the podium was fellow Monster Energy rider Raicca Ventura from Sao Paulo, Brazil, who claimed bronze. The 19-year-old, showcasing her talent with a perfect run, earned 81 points, marking her first X Games medal—a significant achievement for the young athlete.

Julien Vanstippen Defends His Title

His final run featured an impressive turn-down whip that secured him the gold medal for the second consecutive year, bringing his total X Games medal count to seven, which includes three golds. Vanstippen reflected on his experience, saying, "Every time I come here, it's fantastic riding for such an enthusiastic crowd. If you told me a few years ago I would win three gold medals at X Games, I wouldn’t have believed it!"

Kevin Peraza's Bronze Medal in Men's BMX Park

The Men's BMX Park final was incredibly competitive, featuring elite riders from around the globe. Among them, Kevin Peraza from Tucson, Arizona, distinguished himself with a high-energy performance that secured him the bronze medal. After finishing just outside of medal contention last year, Peraza made a strong comeback this time. His third and final run, which included an impressive flair tailwhip, garnered 94 points and showcased his skills on an international stage.
