Marubeni New Power and JR East Begin Renewable Energy Supply for Atre Omori
Marubeni New Power Co., Ltd. and JR East Commerce Co., Ltd. have officially launched a renewable energy supply initiative directed towards Atre, leveraging off-site corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The renewable energy sourced in this initiative is generated from multiple solar power plants, allowing Marubeni New Power to aggregate the energy as a specified wholesale operator. Following this, JR East Commerce acts as the retail electricity supplier, facilitating the supply of renewable energy to Atre Omori.
Overview of the Initiative
This innovative framework is not only a step towards ecological sustainability but also aligns with the broader corporate strategies of the participating firms. As part of Marubeni Corporation's mid-term management plan, GC2027, the company continues to push for greater environmental initiatives, thereby contributing to the realization of a decarbonized and sustainable society. As of the end of May 2025, the handling volume of renewable energy is projected to exceed 200,000 kW (AC basis), with an ambitious target to increase this to approximately 5 million kW by 2030.
