Bürger Consulting's Involvement in Tsutajyu Nihonbashi Project
Bürger Consulting, a company rooted in the rich history and culture of the Nihonbashi area, has announced its support for the Tsutajyu Nihonbashi Project, launched in conjunction with the upcoming NHK Taiga drama
"Berabou: Tsutajyu Eikaryoku Yumibana", which will air in 2025. This historic drama focuses on Tsutaya Juzaburo, a prominent figure from the Edo period, and tells the story of his contributions to the publishing industry.
Understanding the Tsutajyu Nihonbashi Project
The
Tsutajyu Nihonbashi Project stems from the need to revive interest in Edo period culture, leveraging the popularity of the upcoming drama. Tsutaya Juzaburo, often referred to as
Tsutajyu, established his business in Edoyamachi and played a crucial role in the publishing activities that centered around Nihonbashi. The project's aim is to bring a renewed focus on this area, which is expected to see a surge in media attention and tourism, as has been the case with previous Taiga dramas that led to a phenomenon known as
“seichi junrei”, where viewers flock to filming locations.
Starting primarily as a community initiative, the project seeks to provide not only information for tourists but also to educate and celebrate the local community about the unique cultural heritage of Nihonbashi. Various activities and events are planned to foster excitement and engagement from both locals and visitors alike.
The Motivation Behind Bürger Consulting’s Support
Bürger Consulting firmly believes in the importance of harmonizing with its community, particularly one as historically rich as Nihonbashi. The company resonates with the project's objective of cherishing the cultural legacy of Edo by enabling deeper appreciation and understanding among the local populace. Through this partnership, Bürger aims to support the transmission of Edo's beauty and knowledge to future generations, fostering an opportunity for Nihonbashi to shine on both national and international stages.
Details of the Sponsorship
As part of its contributions to the Tsutajyu Nihonbashi Project, Bürger Consulting is sponsoring a
Ukiyo-e stamp rally. Participants will use unique
Shachihata stamps to collect impressions from various sites linked to Tsutaya Juzaburo. The stamp rally not only enhances the event experience but also allows participants to recreate stunning Japanese art, culminating in a special edition print of
Utagawa Hiroshige's "Meisho Edo Hyakkei: Odenmacho Kofukuten". This interactive and artistic endeavor serves to bridge history with contemporary experiences, providing participants with a rich exploration of the local heritage.
