SANY Heavy Truck Unveils Electric Truck Portfolio at IAA Transportation 2026

SANY Heavy Truck has made a significant entrance at the IAA Transportation 2026, joining forces with Putzmeister, a member of the SANY Group, under the theme "Here to Stay." The spotlight was on their new production-ready lineup of battery-electric commercial vehicles aimed at the European transport sector. The SE636, a state-of-the-art heavy-duty truck, took center stage in this exciting debut.

The SE636 Heavy-Duty Truck

The SE636 is built on a robust 4x2 chassis and is equipped with a powerful 636 kWh battery that enables it to cover impressive distances, boasting a range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. With a curb weight of 10.9 metric tons, this electric truck is the first mass-produced model from a Chinese manufacturer to achieve EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA). It is already operating successfully in Germany, Türkiye, and several other European markets, showcasing SANY's commitment to providing reliable, electric heavy-duty vehicles.

During the media briefing, Kevin Eichele, responsible for product development and business strategies for SANY's electric trucks, elaborated on the company's vision for the European market. Emphasizing long-term strategies, he noted that SANY is dedicated to delivering commercially available electric vehicles validated through European certifications and fleet operations.

Customer Experience and Test Drives

To enhance the experience for potential customers and industry leaders attending the trade show, SANY arranged a unique two-kilometer test route. This initiative allowed fleet operators, logistics professionals, and media representatives from various countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland, to experience the SE636 firsthand. Test drivers praised the truck's smooth acceleration, impressive energy-recovery features, and significantly low noise levels – all defining attributes for a commercial electric vehicle.

SANY has already deployed over 70,000 of its electric heavy-duty trucks worldwide. Since initiating localized operations in Europe in 2022, the company’s electric commercial lineup has gained traction, entering a total of 15 European markets and accumulating over 20 million kilometers in collective mileage.

Comprehensive Local Support Structure

To ensure fleet operators can depend on their vehicles for the long haul, SANY has established a comprehensive support network across Europe. Collaborating with local service partners, SANY provides access to about 650 workshops for routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, alongside 24/7 roadside assistance. Furthermore, their European service teams offer specialized technical support for more complex needs.
