The 20th Western China International Fair: A Landmark Event in Chengdu



On May 25, 2025, the 20th Western China International Fair (WCIF) commenced in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. This grand event, themed "Deepen Reform for More Momentum, Expand Openness for Greater Growth," has drawn participation from over 3,000 companies across 62 countries and regions in addition to 27 provinces of China.

Highlights of the Fair


This year, the event acknowledges Hungary and Laos as guest countries of honor, alongside the provinces of Zhejiang and Qinghai, making their debut as honored regions. The United Arab Emirates is recognized as a key partner. The WCIF features a total exhibition area of 200,000 square meters, showcasing 15 thematic pavilions across three main zones, which focus on the aspects of openness and cooperation, new industrial momentum, and quality of life.

In a significant display of corporate participation, 114 of the attending companies, roughly 55.6%, are listed among the Fortune Global 500, as well as China's top 500 companies, with a notable 61 being recognized as part of the Fortune Global 500—a remarkable increase of 74.3% compared to the previous year’s figures.

Event Schedule


The WCIF comprises 25 key events which include the Opening Ceremony, the Western China Investment Promotion Fair, Contract Signing for Economic Cooperation Projects, and the Western China International Sourcing Conference. This diverse program provides excellent networking opportunities and facilitates contract signings for 416 investment cooperation projects, summing up to an impressive investment of 354.3 billion RMB. Moreover, it is expected that over 2,200 projects will be initiated, totaling an estimated investment exceeding 3.7 trillion RMB.

Participants expressed enthusiasm about the opportunities presented by the fair, leveraging collaborations both domestically and internationally.
