City of Stafford Celebrates Freedom with Annual Juneteenth Festival This June
City of Stafford's Third Annual Juneteenth Festival
On June 15, 2025, the City of Stafford, Texas, will host its much-anticipated third annual Juneteenth Festival. This free community event will take place at the Stafford Centre Ballroom from 1 PM to 6 PM CT. Coinciding with Father's Day, the festival promises an afternoon filled with joy, unity, and celebration of the African American heritage.
The Juneteenth holiday marks the historic day when enslaved individuals in the United States were emancipated, symbolizing a significant milestone in the nation's journey towards equality and freedom. Recognized as a federal holiday, Juneteenth is not only a moment to acknowledge the struggles faced by African Americans but also a day to uplift local cultures and spotlight the contributions of Black residents. The Stafford festival aims to commemorate this legacy with an array of activities showcasing the talent and spirit of the community.
This year’s festival has an exciting lineup featuring local and Black-owned businesses. Attendees can expect to enjoy delicious food, fun activities like a bounce house for children, and incredible performances by musicians, including the acclaimed Klockwork Band from Houston. Mayor Ken Mathew expressed the festival's importance, stating, “Our Juneteenth festival has become a meaningful tradition in Stafford. It's more than a celebration. It reflects our commitment to unity and equality and honors the contributions of Black Americans.
