Class Action Settlement for Canteen Vending Machines

Who is Eligible?

Consumers who have made purchases from a vending machine operated by Canteen and used a card for payment are eligible for compensation, provided they meet the following criteria:
1. Made a purchase from a vending machine classified as “Subject Vending Machine.”
2. Used a credit, debit, or prepaid card for the transaction.
3. The purchase took place between 2014 and July 9, 2025.

Financial Implications of the Settlement

The settlement has a total payout of $6,940,000 to resolve claims associated with the lawsuit. Payments are tentatively expected to range between $30 and $360, influenced by the quantity of purchases:

Note that if the total claim exceeds the available funds, payments may be reduced proportionately.

How to Submit a Claim

To benefit from the settlement, affected consumers need to submit a valid Claim Form by November 14, 2025. Forms can be completed online at the settlement website or printed and sent via postal mail. Alternatives for Consumers

Consumers also have the option to exclude themselves from the settlement by mailing or emailing the Settlement Administrator by October 17, 2025. If consumers choose to stay within the class, they can still object to the settlement, provided they submit their objections by October 17, 2025. Anyone who takes no action will not receive a payment but will also remain subject to the court’s decisions regarding the case.

The court has scheduled a hearing regarding this class action case, Jilek v. Compass Group USA, Inc., on January 9, 2026.
