Nevada King Gold Corp Expands Exploration Efforts with Fourth Drill Rig at Atlanta Gold Project
Nevada King Gold Corp Expands Drilling Operations at Atlanta Project
In a recent announcement, Nevada King Gold Corp. (TSXV: NKG) (OTCQX: NKGFF) has secured an additional drill rig, bringing the total to four at its Atlanta Gold Mine Project located in southeast Nevada. This strategic move marks a significant step in advancing their exploration efforts aimed at uncovering potential gold deposits within the region.
Overview of Atlanta Gold Project
The Atlanta Gold Project spans an area of approximately 130 square kilometers and is completely owned by Nevada King. The company has been actively working on exploring and developing this project, which is situated along the Battle Mountain trend, well-known for its rich mineral deposits. The introduction of the fourth drill rig is a part of the ambitious Phase 4 exploration drilling program, which constitutes a total of 40,000 meters of drilling planned to better understand the geological features and mineralization in the area.
Latest Developments
With the addition of a second Rotary Air Blast (RAB) drill rig, the company is now well-equipped to explore challenging access targets that traditional Reverse Circulation (RC) rigs struggle to reach. These mobile RAB rigs are expected to promote greater efficiency in drilling programs and optimize the company’s exploration strategy.
Justin Daley, Vice President of Exploration at Nevada King, commented, “The recent geological interpretations suggest that areas like the Splay Zone are prime targets yet remain largely untested. Our comprehensive mapping efforts support the notion that our previous understandings of the geological landscape may not have captured the full story.”
Identified Targets
The exploration work has revealed a promising, previously undrilled gold target right adjacent to the East Ridge Target. Dubbed the Splay Zone, this area sits to the east of the main Atlanta pit and exhibits geological features associated with the existing resource estimate of 1.02 million ounces of measured and indicated oxide gold. The Splay Zone is remarkable as it has never been drilled, presenting considerable potential for discovery of significant mineralization.
Road Construction and Access
Ongoing efforts in road construction at Atlanta South have successfully completed upper, middle, and lower access routes, allowing for effective drilling operations. The newly finished roads facilitate easy access for the drilling rigs to the Atlanta South target, where drilling is set to begin imminently. Additionally, road access construction is soon moving to the East Ridge area to further extend drilling capabilities.
Exploration Results Thus Far
Recent drilling in the region has yielded promising results, with high-grade intercepts reported. One of the notable results included 4.68 grams per tonne (g/t) over 7.3 meters at the East Ridge Target, indicating a robust mineralization trend that Nevada King plans to further investigate.
The Vision Ahead
The addition of the fourth drill rig is expected to significantly increase the pace of exploration at Atlanta. With the Drilling Program now surpassing 20,000 meters of planned exploration, Nevada King is poised to gather more data, refine their geological models, and, importantly, target areas of high potential that could contribute to expanding their gold resource.
The future of the Atlanta Gold Mine looks increasingly promising as the team remains committed to uncovering the full mineral potential of this promising area. Their rigorous exploration strategies and recent exploration successes set a strong foundation for potential future developments, enhanced by an experienced and determined team focused on sustainable mining practices.
