On July 23, 2026, Synology unveiled its innovative Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) solution, Surveillance365, tailored for businesses with multiple locations. This solution enables organizations to implement enterprise-grade surveillance systems in just a few minutes, without overwhelming IT resources.

Philip Wong, Chairman and CEO of Synology, stated, "Since we launched Surveillance Station in 2008, our vision has been to create a fully integrated surveillance ecosystem, designed and developed by a single vendor, encompassing cameras, NVRs, VMS, storage, backup, AI analytics, and cloud solutions. Today, with Surveillance365, that vision is complete."

Quick Deployment and Simplified Operations

The standard plan of Surveillance365 is available at no charge when paired with compatible Synology cameras. Users can efficiently manage multiple cameras from a single web portal or mobile app. The onboarding process for each camera can be completed in as little as two minutes, eliminating the need for dedicated IT personnel or on-premises server setups.

"Whether monitoring a retail chain, a construction site, or corporate offices across the globe, organizations can immediately extend their security measures without the burden of managing physical infrastructure with Surveillance365," remarked Josh Lin, Director of the Surveillance Group at Synology.

Edge Recording and Intelligent Camera Features

Recorded footage is stored locally on the microSD card embedded within the camera, allowing for advanced AI analytics—such as detecting individuals, vehicles, intrusions, and loitering—to be processed on-site. This setup not only ensures immediate alerting but also minimizes cloud bandwidth usage. For live viewing, Surveillance365 prioritizes peer-to-peer local connections, further conserving bandwidth usage by up to 50% while maintaining optimal video quality.

Comprehensive Governance and Compliance

Every Synology camera utilized with Surveillance365 adheres to NDAA and TAA compliance, meeting the procurement requirements of government agencies and security-focused organizations. For those needing advanced access control, the business plan of Surveillance365 offers granular permission profiles, per-site camera management, and detailed audit logs to effectively manage distributed teams and sites.

Protection from Access to Backup

Access to Surveillance365 is safeguarded through multi-factor authentication and a C2 Encryption Key that only account owners possess. Optional cloud backup through C2 OneStorage supports both event-based and continuous recordings, allowing users to choose retention periods from 45 days to 3,650 days. Additionally, it can extend protection to recordings from existing Synology NAS devices running Surveillance Station.
