In a spectacular display of skill and athleticism, the Monster Energy BMX team achieved a full podium sweep at the 2026 BMX Triple Challenge held in Salt Lake City, Utah. The star of the event was Brady Baker, who clinched first place in the BMX Dirt competition. Baker, a 23-year-old from Toms River, New Jersey, showcased his talent and determination throughout the competition, earning not only a well-deserved victory but also $5,250 in prize money.

The Stalwarts of BMX

Joining Baker on the podium were Bryce Tryon and Jake Rutkowitz, taking second and third places, respectively. Tryon, a 25-year-old from Lodi, California, impressed spectators with his amazing tricks, while 16-year-old Rutkowitz from Palmerton, Pennsylvania, proved that up-and-coming talent could perform exceptionally well under pressure.

Competing alongside the elite riders, they participated in a contest that has become synonymous with excellence in BMX dirt riding. The BMX Triple Challenge, now in its tenth year, is recognized as one of the sport's most progressive event series. It attracts the top athletes in BMX, providing a platform for both seasoned professionals and rising stars to challenge each other in an exciting three-part dirt showdown.

Unforgettable Competition Format

From May 7 to May 9, the competition was fierce outside Rice-Eccles Stadium, during the renowned 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. This year's event featured a total prize purse of $32,500, with a revamped competition format and a unique course design that raised the stakes for all participants. The Speed and Style tournament witnessed riders competing head-to-head on an obstacle course, effectively blending speed and creativity. Judges evaluated riders based on their tricks performance (70%) and speed (30%) relative to their opponents, setting the stage for intense matchups.

The Salt Lake City course offered a slight downhill slope, which allowed riders to build momentum more easily. The design included a series of obstacles whose arrangement diverged from the standard layout, with the largest jump positioned at the end. Riders built up their skills through lower jumps before showcasing their best moves over a massive 35-foot gap.
