I-CAR's Commitment to Collision Repair Education at SkillsUSA Conference in Atlanta

I-CAR's Participation at SkillsUSA National Conference

On June 30, 2025, I-CAR® played a significant role at the SkillsUSA National Leadership Conference held in Atlanta, underscoring its ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of collision repair technicians. As a frontrunner in educational programming and the collision repair industry, I-CAR’s involvement extended beyond mere participation; it was an essential aspect of addressing the industry's talent crisis.

I-CAR has long been a supporter of SkillsUSA at various levels—from local initiatives to national events. Their recent appearance at the SkillsUSA conference was a testament to this commitment of bringing forward aspiring repairers while equipping them with valuable skills for their careers. This event drew over 16,000 attendees, including 6,000 state champions in various technical fields competing for national recognition.

Engaging Future Technicians

At the conference, I-CAR set up an interactive booth designed not only to educate attendees about the myriad of training opportunities available but also to engage them through hands-on activities, including virtual reality (VR) demonstrations. These immersive experiences are particularly useful in the collision repair sector, where understanding advanced technology is crucial for success.

Moreover, I-CAR organized a specialized session focused on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Calibration. This session targeted students, educators, and industry advisors, delving into the critical safety systems that are ever-present in modern vehicles. By providing this knowledge, I-CAR ensures that upcoming technicians are well-versed in the technologies they will encounter in the field.

Building Connections

Another essential aspect of I-CAR's presence at the conference was establishing long-lasting connections. The organization engaged with top-performing competitors, educators, and parents alike, reaffirming its role as a key player in the development of future experts in collision repair.

As a part of their commitment, I-CAR donated materials for personal protective equipment (PPE) and created gift bags to celebrate the competitors' achievements. Additionally, they set up a gallery from which families could download photos of their participating students, fostering a sense of community and encouragement.

Acknowledging Volunteer Efforts

Lori Barrington, I-CAR's Vice President of Delivery, expressed pride in the organization’s volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to guide the newer embodiments of the profession. Many of these volunteers are members of the SkillsUSA Collision Repair Technology Committee, alongside other industry stakeholders who collectively work at local, regional, and national events. This collaboration highlights the importance of engaging emerging talent and supporting their journey through comprehensive resources and programs.

"SkillsUSA is a powerful way to engage emerging talent and reinforce that I-CAR is their partner throughout their careers," Arianna Sherlock, I-CAR Vice President of Marketing, remarked. The organization’s ethos ensures continuous support that evolves as industry demands and individual skills progress.
