Keymed Biosciences Unveils Strong Interim Results and Future Prospects for 2026
Keymed Biosciences Reports Impressive H1 2026 Results
On August 19, 2026, Keymed Biosciences made headlines with its remarkable interim financial results for the first half of the year, ending June 30, 2026. With total revenues hitting an impressive RMB 617 million, the biopharmaceutical company demonstrated a significant turnaround in its operations and overall performance.
One of the standout achievements from this report was the exceptional sales performance of Kangyueda, a core product of Keymed, which generated revenues amounting to RMB 393 million. This indicates a staggering year-over-year increase of 132%. This growth can largely be attributed to Keymed's agile business model, which includes a highly effective commercial team comprising nearly 500 members, successfully penetrating over 1,600 hospitals across the region.
Moreover, the report showed a collaborative revenue of RMB 224 million, driven primarily by milestone payments from AstraZeneca, showcasing the importance of strategic partnerships in Keymed’s growth trajectory. The company also posted a profit of RMB 122 million, a remarkable shift from a loss position, while maintaining robust cash reserves of RMB 3.24 billion, which secures its footing for future endeavors.
In a pivotal move, Kangyueda has been included in the National Essential Medicines List, effective September 1, 2026. This inclusion is expected to enhance its availability in county-level and primary care markets, further solidifying its position in the industry.
Keymed is also advancing its clinical pipelines, with notable products like Stapokibart, which is currently undergoing Phase III trials for adolescent atopic dermatitis and prurigo nodularis, thus highlighting the company's commitment to tackling significant unmet medical needs. Additionally, their CM336 bispecific antibody, designed for treating multiple myeloma, has generated considerable interest. Following a successful acquisition deal on June 5, 2026, with Gilead and Lakefront, Keymed received an upfront payment of US$257 million and stands to gain up to US$610 million in future milestones, showcasing the immense potential of its partnered drug development initiatives.
The ongoing Phase I/II studies of CM336/OM336 are spearheaded by Lakefront, while Gilead will handle the later-stage trials, affirming their robust collaborative efforts in drug development.
In addition, CMG901/AZD0901, aiming to treat first-line gastric cancer, has seen its first patient enrolled in Phase III trials, with a perioperative study already progressing through Phase II. Furthermore, CM355/PRO-203 has marked its territory in the autoimmune diseases space, with trials for systemic sclerosis (SSc) beginning in June.
Amongst these exciting developments is the CM512 antibody, recognized as the world's first long-acting dual inhibitor with an extraordinary 70-day half-life, which successfully met all endpoints in its Phase II trials for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, indicating both rapid efficacy and safety. Phase III development for this product is now in progress.
As the company approaches its tenth anniversary, Keymed remains focused on its patient-centric, dual-engine strategy. The integrated operational platforms in Chengdu, poised to expand their production capacity to 21,800 liters with an additional 24,000 liters coming online soon, reflect their ambition for growth and innovation in the biopharmaceutical sector.
Finally, with a dedicated workforce of 1,768 employees, including 500 in commercial roles and 420 in research and development, Keymed is well positioned to continue its trajectory of success and sustainable value creation in the years to come.
