McFarland Johnson Announces Major Leadership Changes
In a significant move to bolster its leadership team, McFarland Johnson Inc. has appointed Thomas Kendrick as the Chief Executive Officer of Engineering, effective February 1, 2025. This announcement comes as the company continues its commitment to driving innovation and excellence in engineering services.
According to Chad Nixon, President and Chairman of the Board, the selection of Kendrick followed an extensive search process. "We are excited to have Tom at the helm; his skills and extensive experience make him the ideal leader to guide our engineering operations and propel our growth and innovation efforts," Nixon stated.
In response to his new role, Kendrick expressed gratitude and commitment to collaborating with the team to deliver award-winning services. With over 30 years in consulting engineering, Kendrick joined McFarland Johnson in 2007, serving as Division Director of Transportation before this promotion. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer and has been an active member of various professional associations, reflecting his dedication to the field.
The transition follows the retirement of James M. Festa, who has led the firm since January 2020 and held multiple leadership positions since 2008. Nixon praised Festa's contributions, emphasizing that his leadership significantly impacted the company's growth and direction over the past two decades. Festa will continue to serve as an external member of the Board of Directors, ensuring a smooth transition.
Additionally, several other leadership changes have been announced:
- - Erik Atkins has been appointed as Director of Transportation, bringing 29 years of transportation design experience to the role.
- - Chris Kopec has been promoted to Director of Facilities, having transformed the Facilities team during his 14 years at McFarland Johnson.
- - Ruthanne Bulman becomes Vice President and Director of Human Resources, notably the first female officer in the company's history, recognized for her role in fostering employee ownership.
- - Jason Shevrin has been elevated to Vice President and Director of Technology, focusing on enhancing the firm's strategic technology initiatives.
These appointments not only enhance McFarland Johnson's leadership capacity but also demonstrate the company's commitment to nurturing talent from within, reflecting a strong employee-centric culture.
