Age of Union to Premiere Season 2 of The Black Hole Experience at SXSW 2025

Age of Union Unveils Season 2 of The Black Hole Experience

Age of Union, a notable non-profit environmental organization, is set to launch the second season of The Black Hole Experience (BHX) at the highly anticipated South by Southwest (SXSW) event in Austin, Texas, starting on March 9, 2025. Led by the Emmy-winning executive producer and environmental advocate, Dax Dasilva, this innovative exhibition aims to foster a profound connection between humanity and the cosmos while promoting greater environmental awareness.

What is The Black Hole Experience?

The Black Hole Experience is a mobile exhibition crafted within a 53-foot double expandable trailer, offering a spacious 1,000 square feet of immersive experiences. Season 2 promises an upgraded interior design and an expanded narrative, building on its mission to engage visitors deeply in understanding their relationship with the natural world. The centerpiece of this exhibition is a stunning laser-lit tunnel that encourages participants to reflect on cosmic history, inviting them to contemplate their role within the universe. Guests can look forward to
  • - Time-traveling LED Tunnel: A captivating entryway that transports visitors through epochs of time.
  • - Infinity Room: A mesmerizing space adorned with mirrors creating an illusion of weightlessness and endless expanse.
  • - Enhanced Narrative: A refined storyline that connects the origins of the universe to the complex story of life on Earth, sparking awe and reflection.

The exhibition draws on the physical and spiritual dimensions of black holes, promoting a sense of wonder and curiosity among attendees. “The Black Hole Experience was designed to inspire transformation through immersive art and reflection,” comments Dax Dasilva. “At a time when our connection to the earth is more crucial than ever, BHX serves as a sanctuary for resetting our perceptions and reigniting our relationship with nature.”

A Journey Through the Cosmos

Created by multidisciplinary artist Kelly Nunes, BHX acts as a visual and experiential journey to deepen visitors' understanding of their place within a vast, interconnected universe. The concept for BHX originated from a project Dasilva commissioned for his home, evolving into a broader exploration of how art can guide individuals toward a spiritual awakening and unity with nature. Exploring themes rooted in Dasilva's influential book, Age of Union, this exhibit reinforces the power of seeking enlightenment amid uncertainty and the opportunity for personal growth.

In its inaugural year in 2024, the Black Hole Experience toured major festivals and urban spots across North America. Notable stops included Times Square in New York City, III Points Music Festival, and Climate Initiatives in Los Angeles. Aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, Age of Union is committed to investing in projects that restore and protect ecosystems worldwide.
