Construction Live '26 at BREX 2026

The Off-Site Building Association (Japan), led by Toshiaki Nagasaka, will participate in the comprehensive exhibition BREX 2026, which takes place at Tokyo Big Sight from May 13 to 15, 2026. This exhibition focuses on housing, architecture, and real estate and features a special initiative called "Construction Live '26." The association aims to promote and standardize off-site construction, advocating for factory-produced and pre-assembled building materials.

What is Construction Live '26?

Construction Live '26 is a unique experience that allows visitors to witness the actual construction of a unit house measuring approximately 6m x 4m over the course of three days. Spearheaded by the BREX Executive Committee in collaboration with the Carpenters’ Association, this initiative showcases hands-on, experiential learning opportunities for industry professionals and the general public.

During the event, skilled carpenters will construct the unit house from the ground up, explaining the performance of materials and key construction techniques in real-time. Additionally, attendees can engage in practical workshops, including hands-on experiences in timber processing, insulation application, painting, and more. Once completed, the unit house will be repurposed and utilized as community assets after the event, aligning with the Off-Site Building Association’s philosophy of rapid assembly and adaptability in construction.
