Shipley Donuts Expands Its National Reach in Q3

In an exciting move, Shipley Donuts, renowned as the largest brand for fresh, handmade donuts in America, has continued its impressive national growth in the third quarter of 2026. This expansion takes a significant turn with the introduction of the brand into the Midwest, marking a monumental step forward as development agreements have been made to establish locations in Michigan and Indiana for the first time.

Major Midwestern Expansion

Following a development agreement in Ohio from the previous quarter, Shipley Donuts solidified its commitment to regional growth by signing a franchise deal in July for 15 locations across Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties in Metro Detroit. The first store is scheduled to open in late Q1 of 2027, bringing the loved flavors of Shipley to customers who have long awaited their arrival.

The brand is not stopping there; it has also partnered in Indiana to introduce three locations in Indianapolis. In addition, agreements have been made to open stores in Atlanta, Rockwall, and El Paso in Texas, as well as in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and two counties in Florida, namely Indian River and St. Lucie.

Celebrating 90 Years of Excellence

This year marks an incredible milestone as Shipley Donuts celebrates its 90th birthday, having started its journey in Houston back in 1936. Flynn Dekker, the CEO of Shipley Donuts, expressed pride in the brand's journey, stating, "As we celebrate our 90th birthday and grow from a Texas Treasure into a national brand, we're still doing what made us famous — handcrafting fresh donuts, kolaches, and coffee every day.”

As part of the birthday celebrations, the brand introduced the special 1936 Box featuring the Birthday Bullseye, a handcrafted donut adorned with colorful sprinkles blended into its dough and topped with strawberry icing and even more sprinkles. A selection of classic flavors, including Signature Glazed, Cherry Iced, Chocolate Iced, and Bavarian Cream Filled donuts, were also showcased during this festive occasion.
