Arai Corporation's Support for Afghanistan Earthquake Relief

On September 1, 2025, a significant earthquake struck Afghanistan, leading to widespread devastation and a dire humanitarian crisis. In response to this calamity, Arai Corporation, based in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, has generously donated a total of JPY 3,000,000 to the World Food Programme (WFP) Association, a recognized NPO actively providing aid to the affected region.

On October 22, 2025, a donation ceremony was held to formally present the funds. During the ceremony, Arai Corporation's President, Ryosuke Arai, expressed the company's commitment to support those impacted by this disaster. He noted, "Among our members, there are approximately 170 companies linked to Afghan nationals. This situation hits close to home for us, and we felt compelled to contribute. For us, people from abroad are just as important as our domestic clients and friends, and we will continue to support them whenever possible."

Echoing Arai's sentiments, So Aoki, Director of the WFP Association, revealed that nearly 96% of the affected households have lost their food sources due to the earthquake. He emphasized that their organization, acting as an official support channel for the WFP, initiated emergency aid operations within hours of the disaster. The WFP has already supplied food to over 58,000 individuals, including nutrient-enriched biscuits that are ready to eat. Aoki expressed profound gratitude to Arai Corporation for their continued support, having also assisted in relief efforts following the earthquake in Myanmar earlier.
