Oasis Security and Sequoia Unveil the Revolutionary Governance Framework for AI Access
Revolutionary AI Governance: Oasis Security and Sequoia's New Framework
In a groundbreaking announcement, Oasis Security, a leading identity security platform, has partnered with Sequoia Capital to launch the Agentic Access Management (AAM) Framework. This innovative governance model is designed explicitly for the machine-to-machine access layer in enterprise AI, addressing an urgent need for structured control as businesses increasingly adopt AI technologies.
The Birth of AAM Framework
Developed through collaboration with Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and industry leaders, the AAM Framework consists of a comprehensive seven-pillar model that ensures clarity and actionable guidelines for managing AI agents and non-human identities (NHIs). As organizations ramp up AI integration across various aspects, the framework fills a significant gap between evolving identity standards and the tactical realities of enterprise security.
Danny Brickman, CEO and Co-Founder of Oasis Security, highlighted a staggering surge in AI adoption, revealing that customer data indicates an 840% increase in AI-agent usage year-over-year, with Copilot agent creation soaring by 1,767%. “If this trend continues, AI agents could soon outnumber human employees in several large organizations by the end of 2025,” he remarked. This explosive growth underscores a pressing need for effective governance to prevent chaos within existing identity and access management frameworks.
The Rising Risks of AI
However, this rapid AI escalation comes with significant risks. Recent reports from Cyberhaven indicate that 83% of enterprise data flowing into AI tools is now directed toward platforms rated as critical or high risk. Furthermore, 34.8% of that data is classified as sensitive. The urgency of the situation is clear: organizations lacking a structured AI strategy face a mere 37% success rate in adoption, while those with a governance framework boast an impressive 80% success rate. Despite a year-on-year increase in AI spending of about 14%, only 30% of tech-advanced enterprises have managed large-scale AI deployment as per EPAM Systems’ 2025 data.
The AAM Framework is built with a vendor-neutral approach, providing immediate implementation possibilities. It prioritizes an identity-first strategy, tackling risks prevalent at the machine-to-machine access layer, where many future data breaches are anticipated.
Caleb Tennis, CISO at Sequoia Capital, articulated the significance of this framework within the evolving landscape of enterprise technology. “Agentic AI represents one of the most significant platform shifts since the advent of cloud computing,” he stated. “Oasis is ahead of the curve, enabling companies not only to harness AI but also to govern it responsibly.”
Importance of Governance
As organizations transition from trialing AI technologies to full deployment, there is a growing threat of credential sprawl, shadow AI resources, and compliance blind spots. The timely release of the AAM Framework aims to provide a sense of structure that maintains visibility, trust, and accountability across thousands of autonomous entities. Todd Dufour, Senior Vice President of Identity and Access Management, shared his enthusiasm regarding how the Maturity Assessment tool enabled his organization to effectively identify areas needing enhancement and engage leadership on future steps. “It signifies our commitment to responsibly adopting AI and ensuring long-term resilience in our security strategy,” he added.
To facilitate the adoption of the AAM Framework, Oasis Security is introducing a corresponding Maturity Assessment tool. This resource allows organizations to benchmark their current governance practices, identify potential gaps in their management, and prioritize necessary controls. The framework is designed to receive endorcements from CISOs, security associations, and vendor ecosystems, creating a unified foundation for secure AI adoption across various industries.
