Exciting Collaborative Event 'I LOVE Kodaira' Showcasing Local Delicacies

A Celebration of Local Friendship and Flavor



The second edition of 'I LOVE Kodaira' is here, bringing a delightful showcase of the wonders of Kodaira City and its Japanese sister city, Obira Town in Hokkaido. This unique community co-creation event, held at the first floor of Kokubunji Marui, invites visitors to experience a variety of local goods, delicious treats, and creative kid-powered products. Supported by locals, the event runs from July 2 to July 8, 2025, aiming to highlight the charm of both communities.

What is 'I LOVE Kodaira'?



Kokubunji Marui is dedicated to promoting regional revitalization. This collaborative event with the sister cities is designed to present an engaging mix of delightful items from both Kodaira and Obira. Notably, young entrepreneurs from the 6th grade at Kodaira's Daini Elementary School participated in product development, reinforcing the community spirit and supporting local business.

Unique Products from Local Schools



The students from Kodaira's Daini Elementary School have teamed up with local brands to create remarkable products that represent the area's charm.

'Kitano Ace' Collaboration

Happy Curry with Kodaira Vegetables - priced at 756 yen (tax included), this unique retort curry features seasonal Kodaira vegetables. Students were involved in selecting ingredients and taste-testing to perfect this dish. The packaging design by illustrator Kusatch, who focuses on using illustrations for regional revitalization, adds an extra element of charm. This design showcases the local specialties and serves as the main visual for the event.

'Dango no Miko' Special Treat

Sasa Fragrant Water Daifuku with Kodaira Tomatoes -available for 500 yen (tax included), this collaboration features small Kodaira tomatoes encased in a sweet white bean paste within a chewy daifuku, a treat cherished by locals.

'Tacos Mercado' Offerings

  • - Chili Con Carne Red Tacos (with mixed ground meat) - 600 yen
  • - Carnitas with Kodaira Green Salsa (pork) - 600 yen
  • - Blueberry Honey Flautas (dessert) - 600 yen
Additionally, the Kodarenjara Tacos Set, showcasing a combination of all three styles for 1,700 yen.

This renowned taco joint from Kodaira collaborated with elementary students to create vibrant tacos representing the Kodarenjera hero (local promotional hero) in fun colors.

Located in Tokyo's Musashino area, Kodaira City is blessed with rich natural resources, including the Tamagawa Waterway and Nobidome Waterway.

Craft Beer 'Kodaira PawPaw Beer'

Two styles available, Hazy IPA and Weizen, both priced at 980 yen. Crafted using locally grown pawpaw, known as “forest custard cream”, this unique beer emerged from the popular Kodaira Craft Festa; a celebration of local craftsmanship and flavors.

'eggg Cafe' Treats

Double Cream Puffs featuring rich custard made with free-range eggs, priced at 432 yen. These pastries taste as creamy and delicious as they look, providing a local specialty that visitors can't miss.

Discover the Charm of Obira Town


Obira Town, located in Hokkaido, boasts stunning coastal views and is rich in agricultural products, including rice and ivory melons, alongside an abundance of seafood like scallops and flatfish.

Mysterious Obira Beef Yakiniku Bento - priced at 1,280 yen, this luxurious bento features 'Obira beef', known for its rarity, making it a sought-after delicacy.

To promote the qualities of Kodaira nationwide, the local promotional team, the Kodarenjera, is enthusiastic about supporting 'I LOVE Kodaira.'
