Exciting Reunion of Animated Stationery in 'Love is Over' Stage Production

A Journey into the World of Animated Stationery

Starting from September 12, 2025, until September 15, 2025, the enthralling stage production titled 'Tokimeki Stationery: Love is Over' will take place at Shimokitazawa B1 in Tokyo's Setagaya district. This unique theatrical experience revolves around anthropomorphized stationery, offering a fresh angle on emotional storytelling. Tickets are currently available for purchase through Confetti, operated by Long Run Planning Co., Ltd.

The Premise

In this latest installment of the Tokimeki Stationery series, which serves as a sequel to the acclaimed reading play 'Grand Summer Memories' from July 2021, audiences will be immersed in a captivating narrative that explores the concept of lost love and its lingering effects. This work, termed a 'pseudo-afterlife ensemble play,' presents a scenario where discarded stationery reflects on their past relationships and journeys.

Through its innovative approach, the production raises the question: Where do ended loves go? As we follow the stories of various stationery items—including a philandering triangle ruler and a timid stapler—we delve into an engaging youth story set in a high school for stationery called 'Hikidashi Academy.' Each character's distinct personality clashes and intertwines as they navigate their lives. Even those unfamiliar with previous series installments will find enjoyment in the mix of heartfelt songs, captivating performances, laughter, and tears.

Synopsis

In pursuit of becoming excellent stationery that aids humans, the students of Hikidashi Academy work diligently. However, during a trip to the sea for a study tour, a small group, led by Triangle Ren, faces a sudden storm that washes them ashore to an unfamiliar island known as the 'Island of Dreams.' This island represents what could be seen as an afterlife for stationery.

Separated upon arrival, the students of Hikidashi Academy set out to find one another, encountering different inhabitants of the 'Island of Dreams.' Here, they meet stationery who await the end of their existence after fulfilling their purpose. In the face of such a reality, what hopes and desires do the living students, particularly the Triangle faction, cling to?
