TECO Electric & Machinery Achieves Major ESG Milestones in Global Sustainability Rankings

TECO Electric & Machinery's ESG Recognition

On May 13, 2026, the prestigious SP Global Sustainability Yearbook Awards Ceremony took place in Taipei, where TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd. (TWSE: 1504) received notable recognition for the sixth consecutive year. This honor underscores TECO's unwavering commitment to sustainable management and its significant efforts in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.

At the event, Christopher Bennett from SP Global presented the award to Ang-Ting Shih, TECO's Director of ESG Office. This accolade not only highlights TECO's dedication to sustainability but also reaffirms its strategies that have been effectively integrated into its operations worldwide.

In addition to its inclusion in the Sustainability Yearbook, TECO has been appointed to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices (DJBICI), indicating a robust performance across various ESG areas. TECO's Chairman, Morris Li, emphasized that sustainable development forms the foundation of the company's long-term competitiveness. HE reiterated the importance of electrification, intelligence, and green energy in driving TECO's initiatives toward ESG governance, operational carbon reduction, and innovation aligned with international sustainability standards.

To further emphasize its commitment to sustainability, TECO aims to diminish operational emissions by 50% by the year 2030. Impressively, by 2025, the company achieved a reduction exceeding 40%. Moreover, TECO has proactively invested in solar power generation, with a total installed capacity surpassing 17 MW globally, accommodating the ambitious goal of renewable energy constituting 30% of the Group’s electricity consumption by 2030.

TECO has taken concrete steps to implement its carbon reduction strategies. An internal carbon pricing mechanism of NT$1,600 per metric ton of CO2 equivalent has been established, along with a specialized fund to support investments in energy management and low-carbon innovations. Following this initiative, three low-carbon proposals were launched last year with potential annual carbon reductions approaching 1,000 metric tons of CO2e.

In addition to addressing its operational emissions, TECO remains dedicated to influencing sustainability practices throughout its supply chain. For two consecutive years, it has engaged in the 'Net-Zero Transformation Promotion Program for the Manufacturing Sector' organized by the Industrial Development Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Collaborating with over 20 corporate partners, TECO has assembled a '1+N Carbon Management Demonstration Team' aimed at empowering supply chain partners to enhance carbon management through thorough assessments and energy-saving guidance.

Corporate governance practices at TECO have also been instrumental in addressing climate-related challenges. The company's Board of Directors plays an active role in overseeing climate issues and sustainability strategies. Concrete key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to carbon reduction outcomes are merged into senior executive evaluations, establishing a dual governance and incentive mechanism that guarantees the incorporation of sustainability goals within organizational management.

As this year marks TECO's 70th anniversary, the company positions this milestone as a pivotal moment for further growth and transformation. Continuing its philosophy of 'B (Business) 2B (Business) 2S (Sustainability)', TECO remains committed to collaborating with global customers and suppliers in a united effort toward achieving a net-zero future.

In summary, TECO Electric & Machinery's recognition in the SP Global Sustainability Yearbook and Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices not only highlights its accolades but reinforces its ongoing dedication to ESG practices and sustainable development frameworks that promise to shape the future of the company and the environment positively.
