Join the Excitement of the Engineering Festival at the University of Tokyo
The University of Tokyo is setting the stage for a remarkable event,
Engineering Festival in Tokyo on December 6-7, 2025, aimed at inspiring elementary and middle school students about the wonders of engineering. Organized by the
Dōyūkai, a recognized alumni association consisting of current students, faculty, and graduates from the Faculty of Engineering, this festival promises a weekend full of engaging activities that showcase the joys of engineering.
A Hands-on Learning Experience
Unlike a traditional classroom setting, the Engineering Festival seeks to bridge the gap between education and practical application. Participants will have the unique opportunity to explore various facets of engineering through
hands-on experiences. With the festival expected to accommodate around 4,000 attendees over the two days, this is an expanded version of last year's event that received overwhelming interest.
Exciting Activities Await
This year, attendees can look forward to over
dozens of interactive booths managed by current University of Tokyo students and innovative companies at the forefront of technology. Experiences include:
- - Robot Operation: Get behind the controls of a robot and see how they function in real time.
- - Virtual Reality Simulations: Dive into the world of engineering with VR technology and explore scenarios that demonstrate engineering concepts.
- - Rocket Displays: Witness real rockets and learn about the engineering behind aerospace technology.
- - Science Experiment Shows: Enjoy thrilling science demonstrations using liquid nitrogen and other fascinating materials.
Last year's booths created lasting memories, and this year's iteration promises to be even more spectacular in delivering the excitement of science and technology.
Discover the Answers to 'Why?'
The standout feature of the Engineering Festival is the presence of current University of Tokyo students who will be actively engaging with attendees. These students are more than just facilitators; they serve as mentors who cater to the curiosity of young minds by answering their questions with enthusiasm and warmth. This unique interaction aims to stimulate intellectual curiosity and serve as a valuable guide for future career paths in STEM fields.
Registration Details and Participation Information
While participation in the Engineering Festival is
completely free, it is important to note that attendees need to register in advance due to space limitations and to mitigate overcrowding. Registration will be conducted via a lottery system through a Google Form. Interested participants can sign up from October 20, 2025, until November 28, 2025. Each week, notification of the selection results will be communicated to registrants, ensuring that those who are not selected can stay in the pool for future lottery draws until the final submission deadline.
