Huawei's Digital Intelligence Talent Development Forum Highlights Learning Ability as Key to Productivity in MWC 2025
During the Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC 2025) in Barcelona, Huawei held the Digital Intelligence Talent Development Forum, successfully bringing together over 100 clients from around the globe. The event focused on the essential role of continuous learning in driving productivity in the age of artificial intelligence. As businesses adapt to rapid technological advancements, the question of how to effectively train and empower talent has become crucial.
Emphasizing Collaboration
The forum featured an opening speech by Jason Liu, President of Huawei Learning and Certification Services, who posed significant questions regarding the collaboration between humans and AI systems. He emphasized the notion that productivity can be exponentially amplified when humans and machines work together. Liu provided four key perspectives on how organizations can support this evolving relationship:
1. Transition to Collaborative Work Models: The traditional human-centered work model is being transformed into one that necessitates close collaboration between human talents and AI agents. As organizations embrace this shift, they must redefine their training and management strategies.
2. Expertise Behind Models: The experts behind AI models must possess a diverse skill set that extends beyond singular domains. This requires a move away from the traditional ‘T-shaped’ talent model to a more multifaceted ‘π-shaped’ model, encouraging broader competencies among professionals.
3. Flexible Learning Experiences: Learning should be accessible anytime, anywhere, and through various devices. The concept of a ‘6A’ learning experience, characterized by its adaptability and support from AI co-pilots, is critical for skill acquisition in today’s workforce.
4. Learning as Productive Capacity: Continuous learning directly correlates with productivity. By leveraging effective knowledge management practices, utilizing learning platforms, and incorporating AI as a learning assistant, organizations can cultivate teams that thrive on knowledge and innovation.
Commitment to Talent Development
At the forum, Huawei announced the launch of their new service—Digital Intelligence Talent Development Service Solution 2.0—which includes updated talent standards, skill models, and innovative learning experiences. This is designed to equip clients with a workforce adept at navigating digital transformations effectively.
Many industry leaders echoed Liu's call to embrace learning in the workplace. Juanvi Martínez of Mercer highlighted the necessity for staff to continuously learn and adapt to the evolving job requirements brought about by AI integration. Ian Holloway from TM Forum called for robust talent frameworks to support organizations in achieving sustained growth and expansion.
The collaboration between Huawei and FUNDAE since 2019 has already seen over 200,000 professionals enhance their skills through Huawei's courses. In 2024, the two entities' partnership will expand further through the Spanish Academy, focusing on digital competencies.
Likewise, Loreevi Gail O. Mercado from PLDT/Smart and Rumeysa Kaymakci of Turkcell Academy stressed the importance of structured talent development programs to foster future-ready skills among employees.
Looking Ahead
Huawei's commitment to developing comprehensive talent coincides perfectly with the growing demands of the artificial intelligence era. The strategies presented at this forum are set to propel organizations and their workforces towards not only keeping pace with advancements but leading in innovation. As companies aim for digital transformation, equipping their teams through continuous learning and development will be pivotal for success in the years to come.
