Project AnimalAid Sets Up New Boulder Warehouse to Enhance Animal Welfare Services

Expansion of Project AnimalAid

Project AnimalAid has proudly opened a new warehouse facility in Boulder, Colorado, significantly enhancing its operations and support for animal welfare organizations. This new space marks a crucial milestone in the organization's continual growth and commitment to assisting animal welfare initiatives around the globe.

From Humble Beginnings

Previously, Project AnimalAid managed its operations from a small family home and a rented storage unit which ultimately reached their limits. This arrangement became untenable as both locations could no longer accommodate large-scale, multi-pallet donations. The newly established 3,500-square-foot warehouse features spacious open areas and improved vertical storage, effectively almost doubling the previous operational footprint. With several advantages, the new facility is expected to quadruple storage capacity due to its increased ceiling height. This enhancement empowers Project AnimalAid to better receive, organize, and distribute medical supplies and veterinary goods to animal welfare partners around the world.

Major Benefits of the New Warehouse

The completion of the new warehouse comes with an array of benefits that amplify the impact of Project AnimalAid's mission:

  • - Expanded Impact: The new location enables the organization to deliver more lifesaving aid to existing partners and work towards integrating additional animal welfare organizations into its growing network.
  • - Increased Donations: There’s ample space for accepting and distributing essential medical and veterinary supplies to animals in need across the globe.
  • - Waste Reduction: By utilizing the new premises, Project AnimalAid prevents usable equipment and supplies from being discarded or incinerated, thus mitigating environmental pollution.
  • - Improved Organization: The layout enables streamlined processes for receiving, packing, and distributing donations, effectively reducing handling time and accelerating delivery.
  • - Dedicated Workspaces: Clearly defined areas for packing, administrative operations, and volunteer coordination free up time for pursuits directly aligned with their mission.
  • - Community Engagement: The facility provides a professional environment for hosting donor visits, volunteer opportunities, and smaller fundraising events, enhancing community involvement.

As Meghan Curtis, executive director of Project AnimalAid, stated, “This move is about more than just expanding space — it’s about expanding impact. The new warehouse signifies a growth in every sense: more animals helped, more nonprofits served, and fewer resources wasted. We can now concentrate more on our mission to save lives and less on managing storage issues.”

A Vision for the Future

Project AnimalAid operates as a nonprofit that specializes in collecting surplus veterinary equipment and medical supplies from various sources and redistributing them—for free—to veterinarians and animal-care professionals in underserved communities. With over 125 animal welfare nonprofit partners in 43 countries, Project AnimalAid continues to strengthen its global network and enhance its services.

This newest warehouse facility not only represents a physical expansion but also embodies the organization’s dedication to sustainability and animal welfare. By ensuring that surplus medical supplies can reach those who need them most, Project AnimalAid is poised to make a significant impact in the lives of countless animals globally.
